Frequently Asked Questions
Some people have questions, and I strive to wipe out ignorance! What a perfect opportunity to do so here! Here are questions I have been asked. What about you? Do you have a question? Ask, and I will answer! I will also post it here (because somebody asking once is "frequent" enough for me).
Q. What is the Microcosm?

Q. Is Pliny, the Elderly Apple the king and/or god of the Microcosm? After all, he is your title character.
No, he's...he's just some old apple. He's seen his share of the world, and is generally respected in his community. His granddaughter is quite a looker. But there's no particularly reason the comic was named after him, save for the fact that "Elderly Apple" seems to work well as a title.
Now, to address the other parts of your question: There is no single ruler of the Microcosm; there are a number of royalty, though. Each reigns over their own portion of the Microcosm, be it the Land of DANCE or Inordinately-Tall-Crownland (which was later violently annexed by the Land of DANCE).But in the end, the royalty don't affect the day-to-day lives of the normal denizens.
As for gods, there aren't really any specific ones. While there are many things which show religion, thus implying that they have some God/god/gods to worship, they actually don't. They go through the motions for their own existence. After all, if the choir bovine didn't have a hymn to sing, he would just be some cow.
...Okay, I'm lying. There is a god. An old god. Lying low. Watching. Waiting...
Q. Will we ever see a map of the world?
A. Unfortunately, no. As I explain here, the Microcosm is as fickle and capricious as the human imagination. Well, I suppose you *could* map it, but be prepared to pay a lot, as the cartographer will never stop working.
Q. Some of the citizens of the Microcosm seem to be living fruit. If what would traditionally be regarded as food can come to life... what do they eat?
A. I can't generalize; their palates are as varied as our own. A college campus flyering banana tends to eat a lot of tofu and hummus. A sumo watermelon eats a lot of Chankonabe soup. Fruit living in a medieval mindset consume large portions of mead and wild beast.
If you're wondering about cannibalism...it unfortunately does happen.
Q. So will there ever be any sort of 'world altering event'...Like a crisis on infinite apples?
A.Everything that happens is world altering, so the only thing that could alter a constantly-altering world is a lack of altering, meaining that nothing new would happen. That would make for a pretty dull comic.
Q. Why don't use computer painting programs?
A.I'm trying to maintain the spirit of childhood here. Kids don't know how to use those programs! ...Well, okay, maybe they *do* nowadays. Consarnit, I'm too young to feel old. Lousy technology.
Q. Why do you use colored pencils instead of crayons for your inner coloring?
A.A few reasons:
1. Crayons are much less versatile in terms of coloring. Do you like your desert backgrounds? You have colored pencils to thank for that.
2. Crayons run out way too fast. I'd be in the poor house had I kept having to buy a new box every time I ran out of a shade of brown.
3. I made the "EA Classics" (the forerunners of Elderly Apple, you could say) with marker and colored pencil. I stick to tradition, thankyouverymuch.
4. I've never really liked crayons. I always preferred colored pencils. In fact, I started using colored pencils when I was 6, and I never looked back.
Q. Why do you do this?
A. Simple. I want to inspire people, to make them think, in whatever way I can. If you want to go a little more in depth, check out here.
